This optional Hiking Pass will provide you with an opportunity to select a variety of more challenging hikes throughout the cruise portion of your voyage. You’ll go ashore in small groups, led by one of our experienced Vantage Expedition Team members, and seek out local wildlife, go birdwatching, or simply enjoy the surrounding landscape and scenery. Your Expedition Team will help you see these incredible destinations through their eyes, sharing their insight and experience with you in a meaningful way.
Please note: The activity level for this optional excursion is moderate to strenuous. Guests should be able to climb 80 stairs consecutively, and walk several miles over steep slopes and loose or uneven terrain without difficulty. Altitude can range from 7,000 to 9,000 feet. Much of your exploration will take place in remote and natural settings where you need to be sure-footed. You should be able to climb in and out of Zodiac boats and wade through shallow water. Much of your exploration. This excursion is not suitable for those who have difficulty walking, or require wheelchairs or other mobility aids. Interested in enhancing your photography skills? Vantage’s onboard Photography Workshops are available to help you capture the best images possible throughout your journey. Presented by your Expedition Team, these workshops will cover a variety of photography-related topics tailored to your itinerary, such as how to master your camera’s functions, how to frame landscapes, and how to capture the best wildlife images. While onboard, you will have time for one-on-one and small group discussions regarding photo editing, photo critiques of the day’s images, and plenty of time to put your lessons into practice. Your photography instructor for this journey has a passion for helping every guest reach their full photographic potential, no matter your initial skill level or equipment. Even smartphone photographers can benefit from tips on composition, storytelling, and lighting. You can then use your time on shore to improve your photography skills via hands-on instruction from your instructor.
