Brazil’s cuisine is as diverse and exciting as the country itself and, this evening, you will enjoy dinner at a local steakhouse, also known as a churrascaria. Servers will come to your table with skewers of perfectly prepared meats and slice them directly from the skewer as you watch. This style of dining is known as rodizio and is a much-loved part of Brazilian dining.
After dinner you’ll attend a samba show featuring professional local performers. The history of samba in Brazil is believed to date back to the 17th century and is considered by many to be the soul of the country. The word “samba” is thought to be derived from the Kimbundu term semba, which means “invitation to dance,” and you’re invited to witness this lively, colorful dance for yourself before heading back to the Ocean Explorer.

Enjoy a boat tour of the Amazon River, where you will see canoes, fishing boats, and other river-craft making their way along the tributaries that lead in and out of the rainforest. After crossing Combu Island, you will reach the Boa Vista do Acará jungle area where you can take part in a leisurely guided walk through the jungle.
Viticulture in Uruguay has quietly emerged over the past few decades, evolving to become part of the world wine market. This optional visit to a local winery will provide a firsthand look at the process of winemaking in this region. You’ll tour the facilities and learn about the history of Uruguayan wine production, before sampling the vintages for yourself during an included tasting experience.

First, a 4x4 vehicle will bring you through the dense rainforest where you’ll view flowers, birds, and butterflies. As you pass through the undergrowth, your jungle guides will point out orchids, palm trees, bromeliads, and centenarian trees. Then, board special speedboats bound for Iguassu’s gorge, where falls thunder in from three sides and where you can snap some amazing photos. Then, get ready to get wet! Your experienced river pilots, who know these waters extensively, will give you a thrilling ride through some of the rapids, guiding you right up next to the splashing cascades. (Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, casual clothes, and prepare to get soaked! If you prefer not to get wet, a dry option is also available.)
