But there is one great temple the Nebu cannot reach. Situated above the Aswan High Dam, on the banks of the vast Lake Nasser, Abu Simbel takes several days to reach by boat, or several hours by coach. Nonetheless, many people make the trek, as this temple, built by the great pharaoh Ramses II, is renowned for its magnificence.

However, every feature of this journey has been carefully tailored to allow you to explore the best of Egypt’s ancient wonders with the maximum of ease and comfort. So, we’ll be whisking you to this remote location in less than an hour on a fantastic fly-in tour. After breakfast and a short transfer to Aswan airport, you’ll be winging your way over the waters of Lake Nasser to touch down beside this great Nubian Monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The excursion is so quick and hassle-free that you’ll be back on board ship in time for lunch!

On board ship, we’ll don traditional galabiyas (also known as Jellabiyas) for a fun costume party where a vibrant Oriental show with lively music will set the mood for a festive night. Also, on our cruise, we’ll be treated to a transfixing belly-dancing show: a chance to marvel at the precise and controlled movements of this Egyptian style of dance — and perhaps learn a move or two yourself!

And, although you’ll spend most of your time on the Nile cruising in total modern luxury, you’ll also get an idea of what it’s like to sail this great river the traditional way. In Aswan, we’ll board a wooden felucca sailboat and enjoy a scenic excursion around the lush islands below the First Cataracts.
