The Brazilian Ministry of Health is advising that all travelers going to regions of risk of yellow fever take the yellow fever vaccine. It is not required, but it is recommended (this applies fo Iguassu, Brasilia and Manaus).- The vaccine should be taken 10 days prior to entering the infected region
- It is suggested that the vaccine be taken by those people over 6 months of age and those who do not suffer from a weakened immune system
- The Ministry of Health is producing informational materials to be posted at all airports, bus stations, tourism agencies and common tourist points in Brazil
- For more information, check on htp://www.cdc.gov
At this time, vaccinations are not mandatory for this tour. However, it
is strongly recommended that you check with your personal physician to
verify your particular needs. For more information on health-related
issues while travelling overseas, contact the Center for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC) by logging onto http://www.cdc.gov/travel/
or by calling toll-free 1-800-311-3435.
Should
these requirements change, you will be notified in the mailing
approximately 120 days prior to departure. All entry requirements and
fees are subject to change without advance notification by action of
the government and port authorities. Vantage is not responsible for any
additional charges resulting from such changes.
