Andes Mountains & Portillo Tour, Full-Day Tour
Santiago, Chile
Full-day tour, Includes Lunch

Enjoy a day of breathtaking landscapes on this tour into the heart of the Andes Mountain Range. The day begins with a scenic drive through the Chacabuco Mountains en route to the Aconcagua Valley. On the way, you’ll see lush groves of peaches and grapes, as well as a monument commemorating one of the most important battle sites of the Chilean War for Independence. You’ll stop in the Aconcagua Valley to marvel at the vistas — including the highest peaks in the Southern Hemisphere.
Next, you’ll start your ascent into the majestic Andes, following the old TransAndean Railroad that once carried skiers to the high peaks. You’ll pass the Colorado and Blanco Rivers, small villages, copper mining camps, the last police post before the Argentinian border, glacier views, and spectacular mountain panoramas. The road next takes you through a series of switchbacks to the famed Portillo Ski Resort, a place that’s been delighting skiers since 1949. You can take advantage of the views during an included lunch at a restaurant overlooking the beautiful Inca Lagoon. After lunch, visit the lagoon for what many consider to be the highlight of the trip.
