St. Lawrence Sightseeing Cruise
Quebec City, Quebec Afternoon tour
Quebec City is one of those truly special places for a tourist to visit. Today you will venture out of the city to enjoy one of the many natural attractions in the area. You will embark on a 90 minute cruise that will take you to the impressive Montmorency Falls by way of the very scenic Orleans Island. Montmorency Falls is one and half times higher than Niagara Falls and plunges more than 272 feet. As you cruise to Montmorency Falls, you will pass by Orleans Island. The little island in the St. Lawrence River is an historical treasure trove containing 600 heritage buildings. Algonquin natives called the island "windigo," meaning "bewitched corner," before French colonists arrived in 1535 and named it for the Duke of Orleans. The island is the ancestral home of more than 300 Quebecois families and still has more than 7,000 inhabitants.
