Windsor Castle
Windsor Castle, 3/4-Day Tour
Today you’ll explore Windsor Castle, a royal residence, and spend a lovely afternoon in Windsor.
Towering regally over the town, Windsor Castle, which covers 13 acres, is the largest castle in England. Built by William the Conqueror, it became a royal residence during the reign of Henry I and later a favorite domicile of Queen Elizabeth II. Enjoy a self-guided tour, including the state apartments (except when the Queen is home!). You’ll also view St. George’s Chapel — a fine Gothic building erected during the reigns of Edward IV and Henry VIII.
After visiting the castle, you’ll have time to explore the quaint town of Windsor and browse its charming shops before heading back to London.
