Jaunting Car Ride & Muckross House

Transfer from hotel in Killarney to the gates of Muckross Park, where you board a traditional Irish Jaunting Car for an unforgettable drive through Killarney’s National Park, with views of Muckross Lake and the 15th Century Muckross Abbey. During the journal you’ll be entertained with local folklore and the history of the area. Finish your journey at the famous Muckross House, one of Ireland’s most loved and historic houses. The current house is the fourth on this site occupied by successive generations of the Herbert Family over a period of almost 200 years, and was designed by the famous Scottish architect William Burn. Today, the principal rooms are furnished in period style and portray the elegant lifestyle of the 19th century landowning classes. Approximate Time: 5 hours

National Folk Theatre Evening

Your evening will begin with a leisurely drive to the nearby town of Tralee, where you will enjoy a three course dinner at Finnigan Restaurant, famous for its fresh, authentic Irish cooking. Then you visit the internationally renowned “Siamsa Tire”, the National Folk Theatre of Ireland for an evening of music, dance, words and mime. Founded in 1974, the Siamsa Tire provides a wealth of music and dance through vibrant colorful theatrical entertainment drawing on traditions and a rich cultural reservoir. The word “siamsa”, pronounced “shee-am-sah”, expresses mirth and music and was the word used to describe an evening’s impromptu entertainment when farming folk would gather at each other’s houses to sit and talk a while, and listen to a story teller. Siamsa tíre presents a more authentic view of traditional Irish folk performance. The program with its intimate staging invites the audience to share in the Irish culture. Approximate Time: 5 hours

Irish National Stud Tour & Japanese Gardens

Your tour begins by departing Dublin for a visit to the world famous Irish National Stud. The Irish National Stud Company was formed in 1945, its primary aim to promote interest in the bloodstock industry in Ireland and maintains the highest breeding standards. Ireland’s long and prosperous association with horseracing is celebrated and continued at this 948 acre farm. During our informative tour of the stud, you will lean about the on-going breeding programs, famous past residents and of course meet some of the stars of the site – the horses. Also located here are the beautiful Japanese Gardens. During a tour of the gardens you will learn about the artistic, horticultural, philosophical and religious significance that they portray. These gardens are truly one of Irelands heritage gems not to be missed. Approximate Time: 3 hours
