Bar Harbor, Maine
Camping site of the Wabanaki Indians, playground of the Gilded Age well-to-do, and today an internationally popular resort destination, Bar Harbor is also the gateway to Acadia National Park. During your call here, shop the charming boutiques in town or set off for a hike up Cadillac Mountain — the choice is yours!

Halifax, Nova Scotia
Awake to salty sea air and a hearty breakfast before you set off to explore Halifax. Highlights here include the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, home to the kilted 78th Royal Highlanders, and lovely Peggy’s Cove, home to one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world.

Sydney, Nova Scotia
Today you visit Sydney, the heart and economic center of Cape Breton Island. Sydney’s coal shipping and steel manufacturing played a key role in the Allied victory during World War II’s Battle of the Atlantic, but today the region relies largely on tourism to fuel its economy.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
Named for Queen Charlotte, consort of King George III, Charlottetown is the provincial capital of PEI. Originally settled by the French, the island was taken by the British at the height of the Seven Years’ War (and was later ransacked by Massachusetts-based privateers during the American Revolutionary War!).

Scenic Cruising of Gulf of St. Lawrence
The world’s largest estuary, the Gulf of Saint Lawrence is the outlet of North America’s Great Lakes via the Saint Lawrence River into the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy the stunning scenery from the comfort of your world-class cruise ship as you head towards Québec City.

Québec City, Québec
The narrow width of the river as it enters the town provided the name given to the city (Kébec being the Algonquin word meaning “where the river narrows”). Québec City is internationally known for its Summer Festival, Winter Carnival and the Château Frontenac, a hotel which dominates the city skyline. The ramparts surrounding Old Québec (Vieux-Québec) are the only remaining fortified city walls in the Americas north of Mexico, and were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985 as the “Historic District of Old Québec.”

Montréal, Québec
Bid goodbye to the Maasdam today as you disembark and transfer to the First-Class Le Sheraton Montreal hotel for a two night stay. One of the five largest French-speaking cities in the world, Montreal has also been ranked the 10th cleanest city in the world by Forbes Magazine and the 16th most liveable city in the world in the 2008 edition of London-based Monocle Magazine. See for yourself during your included 2-night stay in a centrally-located hotel. While here, be sure to visit Old Montréal, the historic area located in the southeast section of downtown, is a delightful mix of beautiful architecture, cobbled streets, and horse-drawn caleches.

Montréal, Québec
Another day is yours to sample the cosmopolitan delights of Montreal. Believe it or not, you will find a treasure trove of art simply riding the underground, or Metro, which is filled with a profusion of public artwork by some of the biggest names in Quebec culture. In fact, the design and ornamentation of each station in the Metro system is unique! Another underground delight is the city beneath Montreal — the world’s largest underground city at 20 miles in length! More than half a million people visit here each day, accessing the more than 2,000 stores, 200 restaurants, 1,200 offices, and 1,600 housing units that extend all over (under) the downtown area!
