The “Land of Fire” & Cape Horn

First, delight in Montevideo’s simpler pleasures: lavender-flavored jacaranda trees and colorful markets. Welsh-influenced Puerto Madryn, Argentina, your next port of call, is best known for its sun-bathing penguins and colony of elephant seals. Feast your eyes on beaches of white quartz and dramatic cliffs as you arrive in Port Stanley, Falkland Islands. Next is Ushuaia, the southernmost town in the world, where you’ll discover wildlife-filled islands and Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego. Then make your way around the tip of infamous Cape Horn, the southernmost point in South America. Take in views of the windswept plains, clear lakes, and soaring mountains of Tierra del Fuego — the “Land of Fire” — and the Beagle Channel.

From the Chilean Fjords to Patagonia

Next, you’ll arrive in Punta Arenas, known as the “Gateway to Antarctica.” Natural wonders abound as your cruise continues through the Patagonic Channels and the Chilean Fjords, and past the mighty Aisén Glacier. Then travel the Darwin Canal, a waterway resembling the rare splendor of Alaska’s Inside Passage. You’ll finally reach Puerto Chacabuco. Finally, set sail for Puerto Montt, a small village nestled beside the Andean foothills in the heart of Chile’s famed Lake District.
