Your explorations of our neighbor to the north begin when you fly to beautiful Vancouver and transfer to your hotel located along the harbor in the heart of the city. Vancouver offers the best of both worlds — cosmopolitan attractions set against a splendid backdrop of snowy mountain peaks and glittering Pacific inlets.

After you check in, relax, and enjoy the hotel’s many fine amenities, or enjoy time at leisure to explore this lively seaside city on your own.

Vancouver

Today discover this sparkling city on a panoramic tour. You’ll see Chinatown, one of the largest and most vibrant in North America, as well as Stanley Park, an evergreen oasis of 1,000 acres, and Gastown, a restored 19th-century business district with boutiques, restaurants, bars, and art galleries. Your tour includes a stop at Granville Island.

Tonight, join your fellow Vantage travellers for a Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant. This will be a great opportunity to get better acquainted with your Vantage Program Manager and your travel companions.

Vancouver / Rocky Mountaineer to Kamloops, British Columbia

All aboard the Rocky Mountaineer for one of the world’s great rail journeys! Settle into your seating in the RedLeaf Service. Or, upgrade to the GoldLeaf Service which includes glass-domed panoramic cars for better viewing, upgraded hot gourmet meals, and hotel accommodations in Kamloops.

Relax in your reclining seat as you take in the astonishing views. You’ll hear expert commentary as the panorama unfolds — snow-capped mountains, fertile valleys, and sapphire blue lakes.

Kamloops / Rocky Mountaineer to Banff, Alberta

Reboard the Rocky Mountaineer and continue past waterfalls and glaciers to Banff National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site with magnificent alpine scenery and a wide range of wildlife.

You’ll cross Rogers Pass and ride through three Canadian National Parks — Banff, Yoho, and Glacier. Arriving in Banff, you’ll check-in to the Deluxe Rimrock Resort Hotel for a two-night stay. Located just out of town near Banff’s famed hot springs, your hotel offers elegant accommodations and amenities — and the most incredible views in the Canadian Rockies!

Set off to discover Banff National Park and the hot springs. A highlight is Lake Louise, known as the jewel of the Rockies for its stunning sapphire color. You’ll be treated to a buffet lunch at the famed Château Lake Louise, an Edwardian hotel praised by Gourmet Magazine as offering the “Best View in the World.”

Cultural Connection: During this evening’s lecture — a Vantage exclusive! — a park naturalist will describe the wildlife and geology of Banff National Park. The park is home to both grizzly and black bear, cougar, coyote, fox, and wolf, along with a host of other wildlife.

Banff / Jasper, Alberta

Today you’ll travel the legendary Icefields Parkway, which connects Banff and Jasper National Parks. Along the way view majestic peaks, ice-blue glaciers, and thick pine forests. At the vast, gleaming Columbia Ice Fields, you’ll embark on a “Sno-Coach” ride over an ice-age 900-foot-thick Athabasca Glacier. You’ll then continue to Jasper National Park and your afternoon will be at leisure.

After your arrival at the Toronto train station, you’ll explore the city’s delightful ethnic neighborhoods on your city tour. Then spend the afternoon exploring the city’s many attractions on your own. Perhaps you’ll take a ten-minute ferry to Toronto Islands, or visit the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery of Ontario, or the Hockey Hall of Fame. Another terrific option is the Distillery District, an arts and cultural community filled with wonderfully preserved Victorian buildings.  Later, transfer to your hotel, the Deluxe Sutton Place Toronto (or similar).

Toronto

Toronto, the largest city in Canada, is a great multi-cultural melting pot. Enjoy a full-day excursion to Niagara Falls, where over 50,000 honeymoons are arranged annually — and where Marilyn Monroe filmed portions of the thriller, Niagara, released in 1953. You’ll enjoy a boat ride on the Maid of the Mist,and experience the power of the falls, which are second in size only to Victoria Falls in Africa. Lunch is included during your excursion. This evening, toast your cross-continental journey and new friends at a Farewell Dinner at the hotel.
