The following hotel list is preliminary and subject to change. Although we contract our hotels a year in advance, unforeseen situations do occasionally occur. Should it be necessary to change a hotel, one of equal quality and value will be substituted. You will receive verified hotel information with your final itinerary. Please note that hotel ratings are based on the Hotel and Travel Index (www.hotelandtravelindex.com), a leading travel industry authority on hotels throughout the world. Some of the hotels on this trip are unrated, but each hotel has been selected and inspected by Vantage and meet our quality requirements.

Accommodations at the Windhoek Country Club Resort & Casino, at the Swakopmund Hotel,and at the Sossusvlei Lodge are only included as part of the optional post-trip extension in Namibia.

Accommodations at the Sunnyside Park Hotel in Johannesburg may be substituted with the comparable Rosebank Hotel for the 11/19 and 12/01 departure dates.

Sunnyside Park Hotel

The historically restored First-Class Sunnyside Park Hotel occupies a mansion built in 1895 by the American mining engineer who revolutionized gold mining in South Africa. Later, Sunnyside served as the official residence of the Governor of the Crown Colonies. Today this handsome hotel enjoys a beautiful setting amid a garden and trees, and is a National Monument. Sunnyside Park Hotel is a member of the distinguished Legacy Hotels and Resorts chain.

The hotel’s amenities include a fitness center, outdoor pool, currency exchange, concierge, safe-deposit boxes, hospitality lounge, laundry/ valet, shoe shine, and trouser press. Dining choices include Milner’s Restaurant, the Penny and Pound Pub, and 24 hour room service. Rosebank Hotel

You’ll enjoy the modern style and comfort of the First-Class Rosebank Hotel, conveniently located in a quiet, leafy suburb just a few miles from the center of Johannesburg. The hotel offers two restaurants and a lounge to relax in, and a shopping center is just a five-minute walk away. Chobe Safari Lodge

Chobe National Park, Botswana  

The eco-friendly Chobe Safari Lodge, which blends in with its surroundings, is located in the north of Botswana at Chobe National Park, famed for its huge elephant and buffalo herds and home to countless predators and birdlife. Vantage guests stay in the “Safari Rooms,” the newest additions to the lodge. They are individually decorated and offer every comfort. Each safari room features air-conditioning, satellite TV, phone, and luxurious open plan en-suite bath and shower facilities with hair dryer.

Elephant Valley Lodge

Chobe National Park, Botswana  

Straddling the game rich area between Chobe and Zimbabwe’s Matetsi reserve lies the Kasane Forest Reserve. It is here in the Lesoma Valley that one will find Elephant Valley Lodge, uniquely positioned thus offering spectacular game viewing long after guests have left the national park. The lodge has a very active waterhole frequented by numerous species, including elephant, lion, buffalo, and leopard. These sightings present superb photographic opportunities from the comfort and safety of the viewing hide or the lodge’s main deck areas. Sturdy acacias reach high above the camp, forming large canopies of shade, under which you will find twenty ‘meru’ styled luxury safari tents. Each of the spacious tents feature twin beds, mini-safe and en-suite facilities which include an indoor shower and toilet.

Swakopmund Guest House

Swakopmund, Namibia  

Situated in the town center, a mere five-minute walk from the beach and main shopping area, Swakopmund Guesthouse is owned and run by the Borg family, which previously used the property as a vacation home. It has been completely revamped to offer four standard rooms, seven luxury rooms and one family suite for guests wanting to indulge in a comfortable stay-over close to the ocean. Run with an eco-friendly approach, the Guesthouse makes use of solar energy and recycled water. The spacious rooms are fitted with crisp, white linen sheets. The in-suite bathrooms with soft cream walls are decorated with beach pebbles that give them a unique atmosphere.
